About MBHS
History Of The School:

Mount Banjara High School was found in june 1996 by Major Varma and Indira Varma with an inherent desire to serve the community through Education. It is a co-educational school with tradition of providing quality education to all, irrespective of ethnic and cultural differences.

Registration And Admission Procedure:

Admission is granted to classes LKG to standard X. Application form and prospectus may be obtained from the school office.

Sumbmission Of Application Forms:

The application form for registration, complete in all respects should be submitted at the school office along with the following documents:-

1) 2 latest passport size photographs.
2) Original Transfer Certificate of the school last attended.
3) Xerox of the progress report of the school last attended.
The selection and admission will be made by the principal after scrutinizing the application and assessing the student's performance in the previous class.

SCHOOL HOURS:

Forenoon session - 9am to 12:30p.m
Lunch - 12:30p.m to 1:15p.m
Afternoon session - 1:15p.m to 3:30p.m

Academic Year:

The academic year of the school is from June to May. The school opens for the new academic year in the second week of june. Ten days holidays are given in Sept/Oct and in Dec/Jan.

Systems Of Education:

The medium of instructions is English the student is required to learn 3 languages. As (1) English (2) Indian Language as Hindi or Telugu or Urdu (3) Telugu.

Evaluation System:

Classes I to V. There will be 4 term Exams ending with Final Exams in April.
Classes VI to X will be 4 Unit Tests one Quarterly, One Half Yearly ending with Final Exams in April.
Classes X - There will be 3 Unit Tests and 3 Pre-finals.

Homework:

It is particularly geared towards skill building, time management and responsibility. Projects are given either to complete individually or in groups. Interesting projects on topics of their choice- help them discover new horizons, break through frontiers and surpass set standards. Parents are encouraged to volunteer in various ways in the school. They are invited once a month on a fixed day, to meet teachers and here about the classroom procedures and their child's progress. Children's capabilities are more important - with today's ever-changing needs, tomorrow's expectations and parental pressure. Minimum homework against no homework, no corporal punishment, no heavy school bags and adequate time to develop literary skills, Sports and games is what MBHS is working for The school also provides remedial classes for children who have special learning needs.

PROGRESS REPORT:

Progress report are prepared 5 times a year. All subjects are evaluated. Marks and remarks are written to describe the child's progress in class. Parent Teacher meets are held every month where the performance of the student is discussed.

GENERAL RULES:

· Students must converse in English in school campus.
· Damage to school property, indecent language and behaviour are punishable offences.
· Student caught copying will be suspended from school.
· Student must be in the school campus by 8:50 a.m.
· No student can leave the school premises without prior notice.
· Re-examination for any reason will not be conducted; therefore requests should not be made.
· Students are not allowed to come to the school on 2 wheelers
· Fees should be paid on time
· Library books should be returned on time. Late fees of Rs.1/- . Per day Will be charged after due   date.

WITHDRAWALS :

1. Year end withdrawals must be intimated in writing to the school office before 31st March failing which a penality of one additional term fee will be charged/ the caution deposit is forfeited.
2. A student who leaves during the academic year will have to pay one full term fee other than the term, which he is leaving.

REFUNDS:

Under no circumstances will any refund be made once the child has been granted the admission.

 Facilities

The school encourages- cultural activities like singing, dancing & drama. Here various inter house and inter school competetions are organized. These activities keep the student active throughout the year and all the students are encouraged to participate.  The school often has programmes unifying the faculty and the students, like Excursion ,Picnics School fete, Annual day. On these days the entire school is buzzing with activity. Students and teachers work as a group where students learn team spirit, meeting deadlines and making presentations to the world outside and teachers move out of the curriculam to play different roles of a mentor, a guide, a friend to the students. Such days, though few in a year bring a binding, closeness which is carried into the classroom, into every learning process

SPORTS/P.T

Physical Training is viewed as an important part of disciplining their abundant energy, which if not channelized might digress into negative, destructive acts. The curriculam makes sport compulsory for every student to ensure fitness of mind and body. This would certainly instill qualities like team spirit, endurance, toughness, competitive spirit which will help them for a lifetime. The child is encouraged to pursue sports as a career, if there is an aptitude and inclination. Sports form an integral part of the curriculam for the child needs a release from the monotonous subject schedule

MUSIC:

Children are trained in western classical singing. The children can prepare for an exam with ' Trinity college of music London. Music lessons provide them a relief in their daily routine inviting them to explore the finer nuances of singing

DANCE & DRAMA:

Dance is the most accentuated and graceful form of self-expression. The student are encouraged to display their talents through various expositions. Training in various classical and folk dances is given. Dramatics can also be taken up which is yet another creative form of expression.

LIBRARY:

The school has well-stocked library. The students are encouraged to cultivate the habit of good reading habits , which is fast disappearing . Children are motivated to read authors who carry their imagination to untravelled worlds and cultures. It is our school's constant battle with the television so that our children pick up a book every time they look for the remote.

COMPUTER LAB:

Working on the computer will sharpen one's analytical skills, sketch one's creative talents and design new concepts.

TRANSPORTATION:

The schools has its own bus facility to pickup and drop the children from the points close to their homes keeping the childrens safety in mind  

QUIZ:

The school take active part in national and international quiz competations.MBHS has achieved the distinction of reaching the finals of All Asia Bournvita quiz competitions held at Bombay.
